As simple as it sounds remembering people's names goes so far. Nothing can kill an opportunity more than when someone remembers your name and you have to say I am sorry I am bad at remembering names. Along with names if someone with a strong accent says their name is Kal. Show interest and ask them if that is their real name or if it's short for something. Kalipendra will be very impressed and it will open up doors you could not have imagined.
